A Little Visitor???

Yesterday I was picking up around the house. In the entry way of the house Vernon's hat and gloves were on the floor. He had been working on the vehicles and dropped them inside. I picked them up and when I did.......a crazy little lizard was under them!!!! Of course I screamed like a little girl! The kids were yelling, "What is it?!?" The little blue tailed lizard ran into our family room as I was trying to catch it in a canning jar. That didn't work! Vernon came home and was laughing at us because we were all running around the house trying to catch this lizard. We ended up catching it in an ice cream bucket and then transferred it to a jar so the kids could look at it. What a crazy evening! I think this makes it real.......we live in the country!!

Farm Life....

As most everyone knows we live on a farm. We have cows and the kids really love it! The kids love the tractor and spending time with Papa and Daddy on it. They love being with Daddy or Papa while they mow hay, or disc the gardens. They are still a little afraid of the cattle, but they will come around!

School project

Chloe made sea shells at school. She was so excited to bring them home. She carried them around all evening with her showing us and telling us how she made them. She said she used "sparkly paint to color them". She was so happy!

Chloe's Cool Hair!

I decided to do something fun with Chloe's hair because her bangs are getting so long they are always in her eyes. A girl at work talked about weaving a ribbon though her daughter's hair so I thought I would give it a shot. I think it turned out terribly cute! I will definitely do it again!

First Day of School

Wyatt starts 4th grade today, and Jackson starts 2nd!!! Isn't that hard to believe?! They were both excited this morning. They got up with no problem, got ready and stood on the deck waiting for about 15 minutes. Jackson couldn't find one of his school shoes, but oh well. We figured it out, and he wore a different pair of shoes. So they ate their bagels with cream cheese and watched the weather with me and off they went. Jackson wanted to know why it is suppose to rain on the first day of school. He said, "bad weather always happens on school days!" I was thankful that it's suppose to rain, maybe they won't go out and play on the playground in those pretty new white clothes!!! It's only 8:20 and Chloe is already making pretend phone calls to her brothers. I am sure she is going to miss them while they are at school for the first few days; after that she will run the house again!

Sunday Fun!!!

Sunday Vernon was in bed with a migrain all day. Poor guy was miserable, vomiting and sleeping all day. So I tried to keep the kids quiet, or as quiet as they can possibly be, right? So we cleaned house and did laundry. There was some play time though. We were in the boys' bedroom cleaning and Chloe wanted to wear Wyatt's football pads. So here are the picture of Chloe and Jackson in the football pads. In some of the pictures I took you can see that Chloe was tackeling Wyatt and they were having a great time. Jackson went into the bathroom and got the teeth whitening tray, which looks like a mouth guard, and put it in. He thought he was big stuff! They really had a good time and played well together. That was nice for the last day before school started for the boys!

More Football pictures

These are some of the pictures I have taken so far at football practice. You can see how attentive Wyatt is about football. He really listens and is learning a lot. We'll see how he feels about it after his first game this weekend. He has been a little nervous about playing other school and not knowing what to expect from them. So I guess we will know Saturday after his jamboree game! (The picture with the push ups is Wyatt on the left and J.W. on the right.)

Terre Haute Vacation?????

So you actually CAN vacation in Terre Haute! This summer we picked Nana up and went to Terre Haute to stay the night. We had a good time. We stayed at the Fairfield Inn on the south side of town. Before we went we ate at IHOP and the kids had a good time. We swam and just hung out and watch T.V. It was actually pretty relaxing. Trevor, Carrie and the boys came over to swim with us and they enjoyed it too. So see.....you can vacation in Terre Haute! Not a ton there, but still packed with fun when you're with family!

Shakamak this summer

We spent a lot of time at the pool at Shakamak State Park this summer. We had a great time swimming and goofing off. Trevor and the boys came to meet us one weekend and we all had a blast. We swam, had a picnic lunch and then played at one of the little park areas. I am hoping to maybe camp there this fall since we found that summertime camping is not for us! Look how crazy Trevor is, being mean to his poor little boys! Just kidding, he was goofing off and I was snapping pictures with my phone so Carrie could see how mean he was while she was at work.

A Picture for Nana...

Chloe was coloring on a piece of scrap paper yesterday and said she wanted to send it to Nana. So this morning we took a picture of Chloe and her picture for Nana so she could see it. I am not really sure of what the picture is, but Chloe was very proud. Chloe says that the big circle with legs is a robot. There are a few hearts and squares and there is a motorcycle too (it is in pencil at the top of the page).

New School Year, New Teachers

We went to the school this afternoon and the boys found out who their teachers will be. They are both pleased not only with the teachers, but with their classmates also. Jackson will have Mrs. Crowe and several of his little friends are in the same class. His good friend Cody is in that class so he is very happy! Wyatt got the one he wanted, Mrs. Marmouzae. His whole pack of friends he plays with is in the same class. J.W., Eli, the other Eli, Isiaha, and Riley. I told the boys it sounds like trouble to me!!! Those boys all together could be dangerous! Anyway, after this evening they are all geared up and excited to go to school next week! YEAH!!!!! Me and Chloe will have some one on one time again! Looking forward to it! (Notice there are no pictures of Wyatt......he is way to cool to have his picture taken anymore, or so he thinks!!)

August 12, 2009

Today we still have Wyatt's friend J.W. here. He has been here since Monday morning. Last night we had football practice and this morning they slept in until 9:30! That is crazy for my boys! Of course Chloe was up at 8, which is late for her too. This morning they are playing the Wii and trading Pokemon cards, and Chloe is watching them. What a lazy morning. School starts on Monday and we get to find out this evening who their teachers will be. The class lists are posted at the school at 4 pm, so we will be up there then to check it out. Of course the boys, Wyatt and J.W., have a teacher picked they want. Mrs. Marmazae. Jackson is not sure yet who he wants, he says he doesn't know who they all are, maybe he'll get Miss Bough like Wyatt had?

Trash or Something More??????

So, like my crazy mother me and my brother "see things". You know, like the ardvark my mom saw in the skillet one time and took a picture of it. So Trevor and I saw a face in the trash can made from cherry stems. Look to see if you can see it too!

Little Brother's Family

I wanted to include some pictures of Trevor's family, because we are all very close. He has an amazing wife, Carrie, and two VERY adorable little boys, Colin and Liam. We try to spend time together when possible, but with kids and work we are all very busy!

Our First Trip Camping

We decided it would be a good idea to take the kids camping for the first time in the dead of summer. The end of June we went camping and to Holiday World. We had a great time, but it was so stinking HOT!!! We camped with my brother and his family and my mom. The second night we stayed at the Jasper Inn so we could have air conditioning. We are such wimps!!!

Little Princess Chloe

So, Chloe is a true princess. Everything is pink, she plays dress up and is terribly spoiled, not just by us but by her brothers and her grandparents. Of course she is adorable so it is easy to spoil her! She loves to color, blow bubbles, and play in dresses. Chloe is a wild animal as far as her personality is concerned. She has a strong personality and knows what she wants, hopefully that will get better as she ages, but I don't count on it!!!

Jackson Lost His Tooth

I can't believe Jackson is old enough to be losing teeth!!! So he is 7 now, he just had a birthday in July. He will be starting second grade next week, which is crazy! He really likes school, atleast recess and lunch, the other stuff is okay. He is such a funny kid, he makes me laugh all the time. You never know what Jackson is going to do, he jumps around and acts crazy just to crack us up! He is such a sweet boy....

Wyatt plays football

This is Wyatt's first year playing football, he is 9 and 1/2 now and getting so big! He is really enjoying it so far. His games don't start until the fall, but he is loving the practices. Several of his good friends are playing too, so he is really having a good time. I feel that this is the first of many years of football with Wyatt!
